Dolphin Discovery, the # 1 swim with dolphins in the world, received nearly 5 thousand children! They enjoyed swimming with dolphins only by giving a new or used toys in good condition, which were later given to underprivileged children. This way benefiting approximately 10,000 children!
To achieve this activity Dolphin Discovery booked 8 of its 12 dolphinariums (Isla Mujeres, Puerto Aventuras, Cozumel, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, Tortola, Anguilla Cayman). "Our greatest wish is that the good intentions of these children reach about 5,000 children, both DIF and other institutions that receive the toys, and so that this joy in turn means the satisfaction of all of us that turn it on the experience of a lifetime”, said Lic. Eduardo Albor Dolphin Discovery’s CEO.
The 2014 edition of 10,000 Smiles has as a purpose to change lives of children in communities in vulnerable situations, as well as raising awareness about the importance of helping those in need. Dolphin Discovery delivered a check worth 1 million pesos to the national association "Aquí nadie se rinde A.C." to support the tireless help that this institution gives to children treated for cancer.
At the same time, it made a donation of 2,449 toys to children of scarce resources through the successful participation of 2,529 guests those who donated in celebration of 10,000 Smiles in the 9 Dolphin Discovery dolphinariums in Mexico and the Caribbean.
"10,000 Smiles is a clear example of Social Responsibility practices we conducted at Dolphin Discovery Group. Developed in large scale and with the participation of allies and partners we achieved a greater benefit in the communities where we intervene" said Katty Rosado, Director of Administration and Finance of Dolphin Discovery Group.
The program has added credit to the company as an ESR by ninth consecutive year.
The 2014 edition of 10,000 Sonrisas was aimed at changing communities' lives in vulnerable situations, as well as raising children's awareness of the importance of helping the neediest.
Dolphin Discovery Foundation and ADANEC (Association for Helping Children State A.B.P. Critical) with the valuable support of AmeriMed Hospital, led out 10 surgeries to children with heart disease in Quintana Roo, as a follow-up to 10,000 Smiles Project 2015 edition.
Thanks to the participation of local people, business partners and Dolphin Discovery Foundation, a total of 969 children were able to live swim with dolphins programs at an affordable price! Not only children were benefited, but families could also enjoy because 1,116 adults were able to participate in the experience.
It was possible to raise $850,000 pesos to perform pediatric surgery to combat cardiovascular problems in the facilities of the Centro Oncológico de Cancún (Oncology Center) located at the Galenia hospital.
Such assessments were performed to 22 children with low resources in the state of Quintana Roo, who were already on the waiting list to access this benefit. There were given the appropriate care and means necessary to be evaluated and determine the best treatment for your condition or if necessary, surgery.

"10,000 Sonrisas" is an annual event that has two objectives: that children perform interactive swimming programs with dolphins at a preferential price and, in turn, raise funds that in this edition were used for the implementation of the health model and Nutrition "Save the Children".
With the proceeds, we helped implement a Health and Nutrition model in 12 public schools in Quintana Roo and Mexico City. This model includes talks, exercise sessions, workshops, periodic measurement of weight and height, as well as an initial and final evaluation throughout the 2016-2017 school year for evaluation of the results.
